Welcome to the South Coast K9 Puppy Academy web site.

The primary aim of our classes is to help dog owners to capitalise on their puppy’s natural curiosity and help it develop good socialising skills.

We introduce new situations, in a safe learning environment, to prevent puppies from reacting fearfully to noises, strange surfaces or articles. This is done in a positive and non threatening manner and will help them cope better with the things life may throw at them.

From 7 to 16 weeks is most active learning phase for dogs. This means they will learn faster, generalise easier and enjoy the journey towards becoming a happy confident dog.

Our aim is to help you build a strong bond and develop good communication skills between you and your dog. We will help you challenge and stimulate your puppy, prevent inappropriate behaviour and in the process learn how to be creative with your training as well as meet and mix with like-minded people.

Classes are small and are held in a safe environment for both puppy and handler.

If there is sufficient interest an additional course will be offered to participants who have successfully completed the Puppy Socialising classes. This will enable handlers to build on the skills that have already learnt.
